A pilot study to evaluate the efficacy of Neelyadi taila (Sri Lankan Traditional oil) with lime juice on Hypertension

Sri Lankan traditional system of medicine has many internal and external treatment procedures for diseases practiced decades. In this system, physicians apply oils to the head with treatments hypertension control hypertension. Hence, preliminary pilot study was conducted using oil, Neelyadi taila lime juice (Citrus aurantiifolia) externally find out effectiveness who were attending Kayachikitsa clinics, at Ayurveda Teaching Hospital, Borella, Lanka. For study, 28 patients randomly selected from either sex between ages 40 70 years detecting sight. 10ml oil mixed 10 drops patient’s detect their blood pressure thrice in intervals ten minutes thirty minutes. The results showed that 70% patients’ systolic deteriorate only 10mmHg after 30 Therefore, claim applying can be effective but not as an application.
